Where it all started...

Apartment 133. That's where it began... My husband Alex and I got our first apartment together in Provo and of course, wanted to decorate it with fun furniture. We noticed though, that there are a lot of really cool pieces of furniture at yard sales, thrift stores, and garage sales. These are the pieces of furniture that have the most character anyways. They just need a little bit of tender love and care. And so it began. We found a coffee table, side table, and dinner table, and immediately began sanding, priming, and painting.

For our dinner table Alex wanted to do something unique and creative. He drew up the design by hand and filled it in with black paint. (It's a drop leaf table so we wanted a design that would look good wether the leaves were up or down.) We then stained the table so it would have a nice rustic element to it. We re-covered the kitchen chairs after painting and staining.

We used similar methods with the rest of the furniture (sanding, painting, staining).  We finished in just a few days and fell in love with the final result. Not only were we happy with the outcome but we had so much fun doing it! We found our new favorite hobby.

We have continued to restore furniture and now want to share it with others. We would love to keep everything we paint, but unfortunately our apartment is getting a little full. We've had a few people ask if we would custom paint for them, so we decided to start a blog. If you have an old piece lying around your house that you want to give a new face, we would love to do it! We can also provide the furniture (assuming we can find what you are looking for) and paint it just for you. Or if you want to browse through our latest projects, we will be posting prices & pictures on this blog. Everything is completely customizable and all done tediously by hand.
